Spoilers! I’m going to make a game?!

Hello readers and fellow bloggers!
I have some news to share with you all. If you haven’t seen my latest YouTube video, there are going to be some (temporary) changes around here. I am going to be taking an indefinite hiatus from YouTube and some of my other content creation to focus on…
finally making a video game.
I have wanted to make one for years, and I’m ready to push aside any insecurities I have about my skillset to make my dream come true. I don’t expect my first game to be amazing or high quality, but I do need to re-allocate my time so I can work hard on it. That means that I had to consider what I was going to cut out during my “down time.”
I have a full time job as a 3D Art Lead, and I do my blog, YouTube, social media, fanfiction writing, reading, gaming, etc. in my time away from work. I want to give making a game a fair chance at completion, and there’s no way I can do all of that on top of making a game for the first time.
So here’s what is being cut out/cut down:
- All YouTube content will be on an indefinite hiatus.
- Most social media content will slow down at the end of this month.
- Blog content will be about one post per week.
- All reading/gaming reviews will slow down/become monthly.
- Fanfiction writing is taking a brief hiatus currently, but will be back soon.
Things might change such as there might be less blog content than what I am hoping for, but my blog will come back as soon as possible. I love my blog, I love writing, and I don’t think making one game will be cause for me to give it all up. I have considered blogging about my journey to making my first game, but I don’t want to put anymore pressure on myself. If I’m able to write things down for the blog, I absolutely will, but I will not be making any promises to do so.
I’m so, so nervous to do this. I think making a game after all this time will definitely be fulfilling and worth it but also a lot of hard work. I hate to sacrifice the time I spend doing things I love, but there’s no Time-Turner that could help me do it all. I hope you all understand. I promise I will be back and posting regularly as soon as I can. Until then, you can still message me on Twitter, or check out my fanfiction accounts on wattpad and AO3 if you like.
Thank you as always for your continued support on everything I do. You’re the best!

That’s so cool!! I can’t wait to discover what it’ll be about 🙂 You could take notes about your journey and maybe use them to share in a book after releasing the game??? (Just some idea 😉 )
That’s a good idea! Thank you!
Good luck! I’d be curious to see what you make!
Thank you!!
That’s so exciting! I hope you’ll post about it when it’s near completion 🙂
I will! Depending on how things go, hopefully I can make it available for anyone who wants to try it!
Good luck, Meg! I’m excited to see what you make and play it one day 🙂
Totally understandable as someone who has taken many breaks for a book that is still not finished.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Writing is so hard, so commend you for that dedication! I know you’ll be proud when you finish!! ☺️
