Have You Ever? Gaming Edition (+ tags)
In July, A Geeky Gal was tagged in the Have You Ever? Gaming Edition tag by Pinkie at Pinkie’s Paradise! Thank you so much, Pinkie! There are no rules for this one, but I want to give a shout out to Michelle at A Geek Girl’s Guide for creating this cool tag!
Rage quit a game?
Oh yeah! The game series I can recall rage quitting the most is God of War. I always went back to it because, let’s face it, I loved the game anyway. I think its difficulty made me appreciate it even more, even if it left me with gritted teeth and cuss words under my breath. I never threw a controller (although I wanted to). I chalk that up to not wanting to buy a new one or explaining a broken controller to my parents. Hah!
Earned all achievements in a game?
I honestly used to be quite the completionist. I made it my mission to get a Quest Cape in Runescape several years ago. I never got it! And by the time I started paying attention to the trophies for PlayStation, I had stopped caring. However, there is one game that I earned all of the achievements on: Spyro Reignited. If you’re new around here, you may not know how much Spyro meant to me when I was young. Playing Reignited awoke that completionist gamer in me again. And… that completionist has gone back to her eternal slumber, only to awaken when a game “ignites” a fire in her heart.
Pulled an all-nighter gaming?
Yes! My best friend I used to pull all-nighters on the weekend. It was a lot of fun. The night that probably stands on the most was when we were staying at her house playing Fatal Frame 2. We got all the way through the game and then began trying to get S’s on all of the missions. It was so much fun. Honestly, those all-nighters brought us so much closer, and we still reference jokes and memories from that time. While I’d love to pull some all-nighters again, I’m afraid my 27-year-old body is on a schedule now. I don’t see me making it past midnight!
Livestreamed your gaming?
Yes! I have streamed The Sims 4 a time or two on my Twitch channel. I don’t really stream much. I find it hard to stream with no one watching. I know it sounds silly considering I talk to myself all the time for Let’s Plays. I think the added pressure of people (possibly) listening live, backseat gaming, or trolls keep me from streaming. Maybe I’ll try again one of these days!
Pre-ordered a game?
Yep! It’s been years since I have pre-ordered anything though. In fact, the last game I pre-ordered was Animal Crossing: New Leaf. A couple of friends and I went to Game Stop and all three of us placed our pre-order for ACNL. We were so excited! We all went and picked up our games together and would visit each other’s town daily. ACNL is still one of my all time favorite games.
Bought a game and never played it?
Oof… Yeah. I have a few PS4 games that I purchased that never made it past the game download or 5 minutes of gameplay. One of those were a Sword Art Online game. I can’t even recall which one it is (and currently, our games are still packed away). I downloaded it and played a total of 5 minutes before I switched to Skyrim. Ah, good ole faithful Skyrim. Skyrim never lets me down.
Been jumpscared by a horror game?
Oh yeah! Several times. If you want to see it in action, check out some of my Let’s Plays on YouTube like Rule of Rose or Haunting Ground. I LOVE horror games. They scare the absolute crap out of me despite all my years of playing them (though to be fair, I played most of these with my childhood best friend when they were new and controversial). They just don’t make them like they used to. I plan on playing more PS2 horror games on my channel like the Fatal Frame series and Silent Hill 2. If that is something you’d like to see, make sure you subscribe to my channel!
Had a set squad for a specific game?
I’ve never really been into multiplayer games. Once upon a time, I played Runescape, and my cousins and I would coordinate times to get on to play together. I think that’s the closest I have ever gotten to having a set squad for a game. We definitely had a lot of fun playing together and would use the family computer and an old laptop at sleep overs just to play together.
Bought a game on multiple platforms?
In case you’re new here and don’t know about how much I loved Skyrim, Skyrim has been purchased for the PS3, PS4, and PC. I loved it so, so much on the PS3, and it was one of the first games I bought for the PS4 when I finally bought one. Once I got a PC that was able to run games decently, I purchased it again to mod it and play it again! While I still call it one of my favorite games, I haven’t played it in awhile.
Got a console for the games specifically
Yep! I made the decision to stick with PlayStation when God of War became PlayStation exclusive back in the day and I have stuck with Playstation since then. I also purchased a 3DS just to play Animal Crossing: New Leaf as well as a Switch to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons! I do foresee us possibly getting the new Xbox as some of the games we would like to play are becoming Xbox exclusive.

Game tags are so fun
I love reading gaming tags! They’re always so fun.
I have most definitely rage quit before, especially League of Legends. I can’t stand idiotic teammates and people who throw matches. ;.;
Playing Fatal Frame 2 sounds like so much fun! I’ve never played Fatal Frame but I REALLY WANT TO! Pulling all-nighters playing that sounds wonderful.
I threw a controller once! It bounced on the couch and hit me in the head! I have become a much calmer gamer since! Though Ocassionally I do a good footstomp!
Fun list and thanks for doing this!
Its been forever since I’ve rage quit a game . I think it was when I was a teen . I was playing Resident Evil Code Veronica and the very end part of the game was timed . I could never beat even with the game shark .
Omg, it’s been years since I’ve heard “game shark”! That brings back memories.
I have the ones for ps1,ps2 and gameboy advanced.
