Monday Musings: You won’t read it.
You won’t read it.
Feeling dead inside…
Maybe colder.
Maybe older.
Like I lived a full lifetime
and now it’s over.
I never asked for it to be.
It ended suddenly,
almost like the way it started.
I can throw away the pictures, the cards,
the gifts, the poems.
I still feel empty, unfulfilled.
The ring rests on my bedside.
It looks cold, uninviting.
I think it’s like me tonight.
So I sit here, write words
that tell how much I’ve
been hurt…
but it doesn’t matter.
You won’t read it.

I feel like a lot of people could relate to this poem! It’s super relatable.
Thank you, B!
Very raw and pretty freeverse poem.
It does make me sad though. I hope you are hanging in there.
Thank you! And don’t worry; I’m doing great! I wrote this several years ago. Most of my poems on here 5 or even 10+ years old. 🙂
Phew, that’s a relief 🙂
